Technological Innovations in Traumatology, Orthopedics, and Neurosurgery: Integration of Science and Practice" was held in Saratov

On November 19, at the Saratov State Medical University, UMed participated as General Partner in the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Technological Innovations in Traumatology, Orthopedics, and Neurosurgery: Integration of Science and Practice," dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Research Institute of Traumatology, Orthopedics and Neurosurgery.
Since 1945 the institute has been one of the leading Russian medical institutions in its field.

The conference brought together approximately 200 specialists in traumatology, orthopedics and surgery from various regions of Russia and abroad. The event was attended by experts from Moscow, Saratov, St. Petersburg, Kazan, Krasnodar, Tolyatti, Samara, Naberezhnye Chelny, Volgograd, as well as from Grodno (Republic of Belarus), Tashkent and Nukus (Republic of Uzbekistan).

The conference featured a successful demonstration of the MISSO robotic system (Meril)*—an advanced instrument for knee arthroplasty. Developed using the latest advances in robotics this system allows surgeons to:
1. construct a customized 3D model of the knee joint
2. determine the precise size and the correct position of implants
3. perform bone resection with increased submillimeter accuracy
4. minimize trauma to surrounding tissues
5. reduce patient rehabilitation time.
The MISSO robotic system (Meril)*, demonstrated at the Saratov State Medical University and the V.I. Razumovsky is an important step towards the widespread dissemination of these technologies in Russia and worldwide.
